Abstract Jane Wilhelmina Pierson was born in Ohio on July 24, 1917, the daughter of William and Barbara (Ries) Pierson. In 1939, she graduated from Mercy School of Nursing and later completed Midwifery training in the Frontier Nursing Service (1952).
